Celebrating Excellence: Africa Youth Awards 2017 Unveils Finalists and Diaspora Achievers


The Africa Youth Awards, an esteemed recognition for young achievers and change makers across the continent, recently revealed the finalists for its 2017 edition. With over 140 young Africans and organizations from 25 countries making the cut, the awards, now in its 4th Edition, serve as a platform for showcasing the impactful contributions and potential of the youth in various industries.

Launched in 2014, the awards have grown to become a significant avenue for young Africans to highlight their roles in the continent's success. The nominees span across 23 categories, featuring 51 females, 73 males, and 17 organizations from Africa and the Diaspora. The shortlisted nominees were announced on December 4, 2017, with the winners set to be revealed on January 1, 2018.

Voting, accessible at www.africayouthawards.org/vote, is open until December 17, providing an opportunity for the public to support their favorites. Terser Adamu, COO of Africa Youth Awards, emphasized that this year's nominees reflect a powerful movement of young individuals shaping the continent's destiny positively. He encouraged Africans to rally behind the nominees, showcasing support as the announcement of the winners draws near.

The Diaspora Achievement category spotlights outstanding individuals making a significant impact beyond Africa's borders. Among the notable achievers nominated are Ashley A. Opoku, Benjamin Fernandes, Fatoumata Kebe, Katche Corinne, Ludovic Biyong, and Yvonne Amponsah.

Supported by Avance Media, My Naija Naira, Dream Ambassadors Foundation, College in Ghana, African Youth Commission, WatsUp TV, All for Development, and iLead Africa, the Africa Youth Awards 2017 promises to be a celebration of excellence and a testament to the potential embedded in the continent's young minds.

As the anticipation builds for the winners' announcement, the awards not only recognize achievements but also serve as an inspiration for young Africans to aspire for greatness in their respective fields.
