Confidence
What comes to mind when you think of being confident? Do you think about being a proud wife or mother? Do you think about feeling good about your career choice? Do you think about having a more fit body?
Maybe your view of confidence is more internal, and you dream about not being so worried about your shortcomings or insecurities. You aspire to live the kind of life where you're not so moved by what other people think or say behind your back. Maybe you just want someone to say they "love you" and mean it, and you're pretty sure you'll start to feel better about your life if you could just know that to be true.
Whatever your view of confidence is, know that despite all of the things that you could or could not accomplish in this life, your confidence should be in the Lord. Let today's verse be a reminder that you do not have to accomplish a huge list of earthly tasks in order to please Him. He wants you to live for Him. He wants you to have a relationship with Him through Jesus Christ (John 3:16).
Yes, you might feel better when you finally get to go back to school and yes, you might feel better when you finally shed off those ten pounds, but when it comes to things you're confident about? That has to be solely centered on the Lord. The reason why this is important is because as often as it seems that we know EXACTLY what we want out of life, our desires and the things we're confident about are ever changing. Maybe you thought you were really good at your job until someone else got promoted over you. Maybe you used to think you were pretty and would make the perfect spouse until your boyfriend of two years decided to leave you. Maybe you used to feel good about your body until your health took a bad turn, and now, your everyday life is just completely different. Whatever it is, earthly confidence leads to nothing but earthly prosperity which will surely perish. It's only what God gives us through Christ that provides us with confidence in a life that is everlasting.
But the meek will inherit the land and enjoy peace and prosperity. - Psalm 37:11 (NIV)
STYLE TIP: Theres nothing wrong with pairing heels with a everyday sports wear. I paired a simple nude heel with a pair of leggings and a basic black tee and layered it with a olive green lightweight jacket to complete my Day-to-Night Look!
